Proving the lens formula Essay Example
Proving the lens formula Essay When light passes from air to a denser material it slows down. In a concave lens the light has to travel further through the middle then through the sides. This has the affect of pushing the waves back in the middle and forward around the edge therefore effectively adding curvature to the wave. A similar thing happens when passing through a concave lens but obviously vice-versa, taking away curvature of the wave. The curvature that the lens adds or takes away is the Power of the lens, measured in dioptres. P=1/f, P is the power of the lens and f is the focal length. The focal length of a lens is the distance from a lens to its focal point, which is where the image of a distant object is formed. The shorter the focal length the more powerful the lens. The following formula is what I am going to attempt to prove that it is valid. It is used to give the focal length, and hence where the image is focused. 1/v+1/u=1/f We will write a custom essay sample on Proving the lens formula specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now We will write a custom essay sample on Proving the lens formula specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer We will write a custom essay sample on Proving the lens formula specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer Where v is the distance from the lens to its focal point, u is the distance from the object to the lens and 1/f is the power of the lens. This follows from the above, the power shows how much curvature is added to the wave. As a wave moves further away from an object the curvature of it decreases. This formula may also help me with my progress, as I can use it to calculate the magnification of the lens. m=v/u (when in focus) Where m is the magnification, v is the distance from the lens to the image and u is the distance from the lens to the object. The further away the image is from the lens the lower the magnification, and the closer the image is to the lens the higher the magnification. Hypothesis The lens formula for a convex lens valid. Apparatus I will use the following equipment during me experiment. A Convex lens and lens holder Small convex lens used to focus the image on the screen. Small plastic holder used to keep the lens in place. A Metre rule Will be used to measure both the object distance (U) and the image distance (V). It has millimetre units, although large and hard to take a precise measurement in mm. A 30 cm rule Will be used to increase the accuracy of the measurements, where the metre rule proves difficult to use to get an accurate result. A Small screen Flat white screen on a stand, used for the image to focus on. Image distance measured from the front of the screen. A Light source (Mains or Low Voltage) small Lamp, 40-watt bulb. Used to emit light and is part of the object. A wire mesh on a stand Used to create a clear, sharp focus-able image that I can take measurements from. Placed in front of the light source. Jack Webdale 02/05/2007 Page 2 Most of the apparatus I will use are self explanatory due to the background information. I will use the Wire mesh on a stand as part of the object, as I am satisfied that it will be easy to produce a clear, sharp image with it. If I was to use A light bulb with text printed on it, it may be harder to get a clear image as if I used ink, it may smudge or become blurred due to the heat of the lamp. I have also chosen to use a 30cm rule as well as a metre rule, as the metre rule may be inaccurate or cause problems when trying to measure to mm. A 30cm rule could be used to do this easily and to a better degree of accuracy. Prediction I would choose to predict that the formula is valid. Avoiding the fact that people have used the formula for years, especially opticians, and I gather it must work as they still use it! However, my task is to prove that it works. The diagram below shows what occurs when light travels through a converging lens. It shows where the focal points image and object distances are represented. Due to the proportions of the diagrams I have studied, it would seem logical that two reciprocals added together would produce a reciprocal which its decimal value would be less, which confirms the diagrams. Therefore, I believe that my experiment, if done accurately, should prove that the lens equation is true. Diagram of apparatus Consideration of the variables This Experiment relies heavily on accuracy of measurements and distances. Therefore, it is imperative that these are not affected while measurements are taken. I will take 2 measurements of Jack Webdale 02/05/2007 Page 3 Each required distance to ensure I should not have made an error. Ideally, if I would have time, I could do an average of results for one distance to ensure a reliable result each time. However, I feel checking twice, taking the distances where the image appears focused, and taking a middle value, will give reliable results. Another Variable that could affect the point where the image is focussed is exterior light not emitted from the object (lamp and mesh). Therefore, I will compose my experiment in a dark room, so that sunlight will not affect the image, and this should also help me to get a clearer focus of the image on the sheet. I will stick all apparatus to the bench when they are not being used, so that the non-variables are not affected or altered. Method Before I begin the real experiment, I have chosen to perform a preliminary experiment to discover a suitable range of distances I will get results from. I will also have an idea of the power of the lens, so I can judge its minimum and maximum distances to get a clear image on the sheet. To do this I will set-up the apparatus as shown in the diagram of apparatus, And I have chosen to make the Object and the lamp a constant position, due to the wires etc and difficulty of shifting it about all the time. Therefore, the Lens and the image sheet are the elements that I will move to focus the image. Preliminary research I began with a crude test, to get an approximate result for the focal length of the lens. I simply got a piece of paper, put it against a ruler, and with the lens; I placed it in front of a window, and focussed the image on the paper. I then had a measurement of approximately 15 cm. This would help me greatly in my experiment, as it would indicate immediately any results way off the mark, considering the variables and errors. I then also set up the apparatus as shown in the diagram, and used them to determine what distances I would use in my experiment. I placed a metre rule on the bench, and put on one end, the screen that the image would focus, and at the other, the object. I decided that I would not exceed this Object to Image (U V) distance, as measuring over a metre would cause problems, as I would need to have to metre rules, increasing the chance of making the results inaccurate. I then discovered how close I could put the lens to the object, until I could not get a focus on the screen (Where The focal length equals the object distance, and the image distance = ?). This was in between 13-18 cm for the object distance. Preliminary research Summery Part 1 * Collect all of the equipment displayed in the diagram of apparatus. * Check that the lamp works, and that the lens is not cracked or dented. * Place the lens on a flat surface, facing a window so that light from outside travels through the lens. Place the screen at the opposite end, so that it looks similar to the diagram above, but using the outside as the image. Move the screen until an image (Real, inverted) is focussed on the paper. * Measure the image distance, using a 30 cm ruler. (This is the approximate focal length). Part 2 * Collect all of the equipment displayed in the diagram of apparatus. * Check that the lamp works, and that the lens is not cracked or dented. * Set-up the equipment as shown in the diagram of apparatus, placing the object at one end of the metre rule, and the screen at the other (this is the maximum object to image distance). * Move the lens close to the object, and experiment with the lens and the screen until it is Jack Webdale 02/05/2007 Page 4 Impossible to get a focussed image on the screen. * Find the bounds which this occurs, and record the results (This is the area where the focal length is approximately the same as the object distance). There is no need for a table of results for this preliminary experiment, as not many results are taken, they are merely to give an idea of the expected results in the real experiment. Real Experiment * Collect all of the equipment displayed in the diagram of apparatus. * Check that the lamp works, and that the lens is not cracked or dented. * Set-up the equipment as shown in the diagram of apparatus, placing the object at one end of the metre rule, and the screen at the other (this is the maximum object to image distance). * Turn on the lamp; line it up with the mesh so that the lens, screen and the object line up against the metre rule. * Keeping the Screen and the Object stationary, move the lens up and down the metre rule until a clear, focused image of the mesh can be seen on the screen. * Measure the object distance to the lens, using the white mid-point line on the lens holder as a marker, then measure the Image distance, using the front of the screen as the marker. Use the 30cm rule so that the mm can be measured as accurately as possible. * The lens can move around 5 mm and still produce a clear and focussed image on the screen. This is merely due to the sensitivity of our eyes. For the following results, keep the object stationary, and move the screen 10 cm down the metre rule, decreasing the distance to the object each time. Measure the distances. For the Image distance, you will need to record two results, where the image beings to lose focus between the 5mm focus gap. These results can be used to obtain a midpoint, where the real focus is occurring. * Repeat this so 8 records have been taken. For each, be-aware of the results been recorded, and be aware that the focal length is approximately 15mm, and repeat any result that appears irregular. * As the experiment goes on, eventually a focused image will be impossible to obtain. This is where the image distance is equal to the focal length. You should not try and record results at this point and beyond. Table of results example My table will take this form: U (object distance) cm Min. V (Image distance) cm Max. V (image distance) cm Avg. V (image distance) cm 1/U + 1/V = 1/F F (Focal length) cm . . . . . . Risk Assessment All things considered, there are little risks presented with this experiment. I feel confident no special precautions need to be taken to ensure the safety of people partaking, or working near the experiment. The are few dangers which in extreme circumstances could cause a problem is the Light bulb. First because of the heat and the risk of burning a hand, which can be avoided by using a metal cover, not touching the bulb, and a cap over the cover to expose little of the lamp. The electricity supply could also be a danger, but I will ensure the wires are out of the way of tripping over, pulling the plug and causing any problems. Jack Webdale 02/05/2007 Page 5 The Second is the possibility of a dropped lens, leaving shards of glass on the floor, and in extreme circumstances these shards going into someones eye. To avoid this as much as possible, the lens will be placed in its holder, away from the edge of the bench. Also, if the lens is dropped, it is to be swept up immediately and a new lens to be used. The Results The experiment worked out sufficiently, although one result, where the object distance was 20.6cm, the Avg. V Distance was around 60.4 cm. I knew this must be an error due to the pattern of the decreasing V distance, and the Focal Length of this result would have worked out to be 15.361 cm, which is quite far out from the other results. Due to this I repeated the experiment for this result, using the same apparatus, which I had numbered in case this occurred. The Graphs of these results are on a separate sheet of graph paper. To be precise, I performed each measurement twice to ensure I hit the mark each time. The second measurement was basically a check for the first. I could not take results more than two decimal places for accuracy, as I merely used my own vision and judgement. If however, I had Specialised measuring equipment, this could have been more accurate. Evaluation and Conclusion For plotting the graph, I also needed the separate data for 1/V and 1/U. So I put them in the following table to allow me to successfully draw the graph. After analysing the graph, it can be seen that a strait line can be drawn through the points. This means that the Object distance (U) is Inversely proportional to the Image distance (V). Thus we can say that when any result is taken for say U, put in its reciprocal form, and then added to the reciprocal of V, the result is always the reciprocal of the focal length of the converging lens being used (discarding errors and inaccuracy in this statement). On my graph, it can be seen that the line doesnt travel exactly through every point, but in all cases travels through the error box. This shows that if the results were perfectly calculated without any chance of error, all the points would lie on a strait line. It also shows that although I conducted my experiment as accurately as possible, small errors did occur. With the graph, I have determined that the equation of the line is 1/v = (-1)1/u+1/f. From this statement the gradient of the line is always -1, and this is always the case wha tever the reciprocal of the focal length. Also, due to the -1 gradient, the X-axis intercept is also the reciprocal of the focal length. With the graph, I can determine the experiment was successful, as the straight line travels through both axis and at almost the same points. On the Y-Axis 1.167cm and on the X-axis 0.066cm. They both give a focal length of approximately 14.9cm Knowing that the focal length is approximately 15cm, I can conclude that my experiment was successful, and thus proves that the lens formula 1/U + 1/V = 1/F is valid. I decided not to put error bars on my graph, as I was not using the whole values of v and u, where I knew the errors spread over a 0.5cm distance for each measurement taken. However, even though I took middle values of v, it is still evident that errors took place. If I were to repeat the experiment, I would choose to take two values of u, the object distance as well as v then take the middle value. This may also reduce the chance of inaccuracy due to the human eye. There are little ways in which I could improve this experiment, except take many readings of a result, then take an average value. Doing this for every measurement taken, however, would be very time consuming, and if one reading happened to be far out, the average would not be that accurate.

The Desert Fox essays
The Desert Fox essays Winston Churchill once said We have, a daring and skillful opponent against us, and, may I say, across the havoc of war, a great general. Churchill was always fond of Field Marshall Erwin Rommel and his abilities as a leader, as seen by his previous words. Giving praise to a general of enemys forces is relatively unheard of, especially when this general is threatening the safety of your country. This just goes to show how truly great Rommel was. He was an unorthodox leader; he was always at the center of the conflict. He would push through enemy forces at full speed. He wasnt concerned with the danger exposed to his flanks when he did this; he felt the enemy would be too confused to fight back in this situation. These tactics proved to be very successful for Rommel. Field Marshall Erwin Johannes Eugen Rommel was born on the 15th of November 1891 in the small town of Heidenheim, near the city of Ulm, Germany. He was the second son born to Professor Erwin Rommel, a schoolmaster. His elder brother, Manfred, died in infancy. He also had two younger brothers and one sister. Their father died in 1913 after an operation, making Erwin the man of the house at the age of twenty-two. When Erwin turned 18 he had aspired to join his fathers old regiment, but was turned away. The same result occurred when he tried to join the engineers. On the 19th of June 1910 Rommel became a cadet stationed at the 124th Wurttemberg Regimental headquarters in Weingarten. Rommel was quick to impress his superiors and as such found himself with the rank of Sergeant after only eight months. While attending the Royal Officer Cadet Academy in Danzig Rommel met his future wife, Lucie Maria Mollin. They were wed on the 27th of November 1916. In 1912 Rommel was promoted to Second Lieutenant, he also began his daily ritual of writing to Lucie. In March of 1914 Rommel was stationed in Ulm with the 49th Field Artillery Regiment. He was obs...

ACT Test Center Has These Problems - SPEAK UP
If Your SAT/ACT Test Center Has These Problems - SPEAK UP SAT / ACT Prep Online Guides and Tips No one likes to be a tattletale. Okay, most people donââ¬â¢t like to be a tattletale. However, when your future dream college is at stake, which it is when you take the SAT/ACT as it accounts for 30-50% of your college application, you NEED to be a tattletale when there are testing issues. In this article, I will run through a list of common problems at testing sites such as: Instruction Issues Timing Issues Noise Issues Break Issues Possible Cheating If any of these issues occur, you should speak up! Let your proctor know and if they wonââ¬â¢t listen contact the College Board or ACT after the test (as you are not allowed to access your phone during the test). Most of these issues are based on my personal experience taking the SAT in South Los Angeles. The experience was a nightmare, and it was heavily unfair to the students I took it with. Instruction Issues Issues can begin before the test even starts. The instructions are very important. If you do not understand the instructions clearly when your proctor reads them, ask them questions about the instructions.Do not feel weird about this.Again, your future is at stake. Make sure you understand the instructions fully. Speak up!If your proctor cannot answer your question, ask them to ask another proctor on the campus or ask them to call the College Board or ACT office.NOTE: Because there are many incompetent proctors, as I learned personally when I sat for the June 6th SAT, try to make sure you understand the instructions for the test BEFORE you go sit for the test. Read the instructions on an SAT practice test such as one of these free onesor ACT practice test such as one of these free ones.Read them at least a week in advance of your test date. That way, if you have any questions about them, you have plenty of time to call or email the College Board or ACTabout your question. Timing Issues Your instructors most likely do not know the timing of the test as well as you do,if you have been practicing. If you do not know the timing, you should make sure you do before you take the test. For the SAT, Section 1 - Essay - 25 minutes Sections 2-7 - 25 minutes each Sections 8 and 9 - 20 minutes each Section 10 - 10 minutes 3 breaks of 5 minutes each For the ACT, Section 1 - English - 45 minutes Section 2 - Math - 60 minutes Section 3 - Reading - 35 minutes Section 4 - Science - 35 minutes Optional Writing - 40 minutes Sometimes, the instructors will misread the time and give you more or less time than necessary. Read about the disaster that was the June 6th SAT.I highly recommend timing on your own watch. If your proctormesses up, speak up!If they wonââ¬â¢t listen to you when you try to correct them, call the College Boardor contact the ACT. Noise Issues Your testing experience should be relatively noise free, other than page turning or pencils writing. If you are disturbed by any other noises, such as your proctor listening to music on their cellphone (happened to me) or watching a movie on their iPad (happened to my friend), you should speak up!This is your time to shine.Do not let anything get in your way. If there are noises outside that are disturbing you such as kids screaming or an ice cream truck blaring music (both happened to me), speak up!Politely ask your proctor if they can speak to the noisemakers! Here are the steps to take in that situation: Raise your hand. Wait for your proctor to arrive at your seat. Say, "I'm sorry, but that noise (from your headphones, iPad, or outside) is distracting me from focusing on the test. Is there any way you could turn it off / speak to the person making the noise? Thank you so much for your help and understanding! I really appreciate it!" Who could say no to that? If a noise is distracting you, it is probably distracting others, so you are actually being a hero, not a tattletale! If your proctor still refuses to help, talk to another proctor on your break or call the College Board or the ACTafter the test. Break Issues You should receive three 5 minute long breaks during the test for the SAT. For the ACT, you should receive 2 breaks: one after section 2 and one after section 4. The ACT does not have a standard amount of time for the break as they told me when I asked. They said "5-10 minutes, probably 10 minutes." Regardless, do not let your proctor try to cut a break. It happened to me!If you want all three breaks, insist on taking all three. Speak to your proctor about it.If he or she disagrees, speak to another proctor about it or call the College Boardafter your test. Possible Cheating If you spot possible cheating the day of the test, tell your proctor and call the College Boardor the ACT office(I know I've said it about a hundred times, but it is important!).The College Board has an entire office dedicated to test integrity.Your test is being curved based on everyone who sits for the test. If they cheat, you suffer.Donââ¬â¢t let them get away with it. You will regret it if you don't! When you should speak up and why you shouldn't be afraid of speaking up You should speak up if anything severely disrupts your test. That includes everything I have mentioned as well as anything else that might happen to disrupt your test (alarms going off, students talking, etc.). You should not be afraid to speak up. You NEED to speak up. As I said before, this test accounts for 30-50% of your college application. You deserve fair testing conditions, so you can rock the test. You should not be afraid of being labeled a whistleblower. The College Board or ACT will respect you for it and will investigate your concern. Also, they will most likely let you retest for free, so there is an upside to being a whistleblower! Do not worry about your score being cancelled if you complain. If you want your score and the disturbances were minimal, you will most likely have a delay in your scores being reported, but you will still receive your scores. If you feel the conditions were completely unfair, you probably want to retest anyways. If you complain about major issues (such as timing discrepancies), the College Board or ACT may cancel your score as well as the others at your test site, but they will most likely have you retest for free. If you took the SATand would like to contact the College Board to file a complaint about your test center, call this number(609) 771-7710 or email this addresstestcenter@info.collegeboard.org, both ofwhich are specifically for test center complaints. Don't be afraid of calling when they have an entire phone line and email dedicated to addressing your issue. They must get a ton of calls and emails. If you took the SAT and would like to contact the College Board about cheating, call this number609-406-5430 or this number800-257-5123 (on test days only)or email this addresstestsecurity@info.collegeboard.org. Again, they have an entire office dedicated to test integrity. They want you to tell them about potential cheating. If you took the ACT and would like to contact the ACT office tofile a complaint about your test center or to report cheating, send an email to their office using this form. They have a form specifically for this purpose. Use it if you need it! Recap Know your rights! Instructions Read them a week before taking the test. Ask the College Board or the ACT office questions. On the day off, ask the proctor any new questions you have. For test timing, For the SAT, you get 25 minutes for the Essay, 25 minutes each for Sections 1-7, 20 minutes each for Section 8 and 9, and 10 minutes for Section 10. For the ACT, you get 45 minutes for English, 60 minutes for Math, 35 minutes each for Reading and Science, and 40 minutes for the Optional Essay (Writing Test). Time it on your own watch. If your proctor accidentally cuts time, speak up! For the SAT, You get three 5-minute breaks. Donââ¬â¢t get shortchanged! For the ACT, you get two 5-10 minute breaks! If any noise bothers you, ask your proctor to try to resolve it. Report any cheating to your proctor and the College Boardor the ACT office. Whatââ¬â¢s next? Report - Research Paper Example This makes it extremely hard for such businesses to structure their operations toward meeting fully the demands of their customers (Noel 67). It was found out that most companies and businesses ignore the importance of information relating to consumer behavior. More than half of the businesses have failed to put into consideration the significance of data regarding the consumers; responses and behavior patterns in the market. Just about two-thirds of firms use the information they have to make decisions (Linehan 100). From the above statistics, it is noticeable that companies ignore the role consumer behavior plays in their market performance. It is suggested that all firms should focus and invest in unearthing information about their consumersââ¬â¢ behaviors. The data collected should be interpreted and utilized in formulating strategic decisions that aim at improving sales performance (Hanley and Morgan

Brief Survey of Psychology :: essays research papers
Psychology seems to be like the science of perception turned into prejudices. I know there is a lot more to it than that, but that seemed to be what Kevin was focusing on. This does not mean bad prejudices like racial prejudices, but good ones like when I go to sleep tonight I will wake up tomorrow. I believe I will wake up tomorrow because I woke up today, if I did not believe that I might have a hard time getting to sleep since I would fear not waking up. So when people who saw a picture of a young girl, then they were shown a picture of both the old woman and the young girl together, they were very likely to fist see the young girl. à à à à à I like to think that I am able to think outside the box, but when told to draw four continuous lines through nine points in a box, my mind was unable to think outside that box! Psychology is a power tool because it allows us to take a step back and look at the big picture of individual behavior. We are more able to notice behavior that we take for granted, such as blaming outside influence for our failures, and attributing our success to our own hard work. I would like to think that now people know they how they attribute success and failure, that they would change their ways, and give credit where credit is do, plus attempt to right there wrongs. à à à à à A topic that I believe could be studied from a social psychologist perspective, is the ââ¬Å"Why do they hate us?â⬠ideology following September 11 2001. Most believe they hate us because they desire our freedom, something for which we pride ourselves. Few people will even attempt to look for the real reasons, such as the 432 + governments we have overthrow since the Regan Administration or the arms we sell to tyrannical dictators. No it must be something good we did, because we only see the good we do. Conversely we only see the bad they do, thatââ¬â¢s right the Koran is only about a Jihad and all the people in the middle east wear towels, so thatââ¬â¢s why all the people in the middle east hate us, because the towels give them fevers, therefore they are crazy.

Case Study in Baguio
INTRODUCTIONSocio-cultural can be easily understood by anyone because it only definesà the interaction of people and different kinds of culture and tourism is one of the reasons there have been a generation of socio-cultural impacts. Socio-cultural impacts of tourism are described as the effects on the host communities of direct and indirect interaction with the tourists and the relation with the tourism industry. The impacts arise when tourism brings about changes in value systems and behavior and thereby threatens indigenous identity.Furthermore, changes often occur in community structure, family relationships, collective traditional life styles, ceremonies and morality. But tourism can also generate positive impacts as it can serve as a supportive force for peace, foster pride in cultural traditions and help avoid urban relocation by creating local jobs. As often happens when different cultures meet, socio-cultural impacts are ambiguous: the same objectively described impacts ar e seen as beneficial by some groups, and are perceived as negative ââ¬â or as having negative aspects ââ¬â by other stakeholders.OBJECTIVEThis case study aims to address the socio-cultural impacts of Tourism on researcherââ¬â¢s chosen host community which is Baguio by going on the place, doing observation, information gathering and interviewing indigenous people. Another reason is to generate or create possible strategies in giving solution to the negative impacts and to strengthen the positive impacts that has been observe in the area. This case study also aims to explain this issue with our fellow Tourism Students that will help in giving better understanding with the subject.OBSERVATIONFrom the long span of time that we have spent in observing the changes happened to the ââ¬Å"summer capital of the Philippinesâ⬠, we have determined positive and negative impacts of tourism in the socio-cultural aspects of Baguio. These are the results:POSITIVE NEGATIVE Cultural Pr eservation Congestion of Residential Construction and Overpopulation Preservation of Man-Made Attractions Prostitution Strengthening Communities Production of Prohibited Drugs Generating Work for Local Communities Pollution and Waste Development of Facilities Traffic Peace Undergoing Transportation infrastructure Increasing Crime Rate Cultural Diversity Figure 1. Positive and Negative Impacts of Tourism in Socio-CulturalANALYZATIONBy going personally at Baguio city, weââ¬â¢ve been capable of analyzing positive and negative impacts of tourism in socio-cultural aspects and to fully understand the identified impacts. Here are the explanations: On the positive impacts:Cultural preservation ââ¬â Tourism helped boost the preservation and transmission of cultural and historical traditions, which often contributes to the conservation and sustainable management of natural resources, the protection of local heritage, and a renaissance of indigenous cultures, cultural arts and crafts. P reservation of Man-made attraction ââ¬â Aside from preservation of cultural arts, they also become aware of making different places in Baguio beautiful and well preserved for a long time because these are one of their ways in facing the demands of the tourists Strengthening communities ââ¬â Tourism can helped in adding vitality in the city of Baguio in many ways. One example is that events and festivals of which local residents have been the primary participants and spectators are often rejuvenated and developed in response to tourist interest. Generating work for local communities ââ¬â To fulfill the needs of the tourists, tourism created jobs for the local residents that gave answer also to the needs of the community and the economy. Local residents also donââ¬â¢t need to be away from their familiesà to look for a job. Development of facilities ââ¬â the development of the tourism in the city of Baguio gave benefit to the local residents because tourism helped i n the improvement of infrastructures, health, and transportation facilities. Also, new sport and recreational facilities, restaurants, and public spaces as well as an influx of better-quality commodities and food bringing Baguio to a higher and better standard of living. On the negative impacts:Congestion of Residential construction and Overpopulation ââ¬â Baguio is very blessed in natural resources specially the weather and because of these one of a kind asset that canââ¬â¢t be found in other places, a lot of people wished and moved to Baguio to experience and enjoy the gifts of God to Baguio but because of that interest. A lot of people are already congested in the mountains of Baguio and they are the reason why some of the natural resources are already destroyed. They keep on building housing infrastructure in Baguio that we canââ¬â¢t even find an open space. Prostitution ââ¬â we canââ¬â¢t change the fact that in most of the famous destinations in the Philippines that had been fully affected by the changes of this generation and influenced by the liberation of other culture became prone to prostitution. This kind of impact lowers the morality of the community which is not good for the residents of Baguio.Production of Prohibited drugs ââ¬â from what we have heard, drug dealers can produce good quality of prohibited drugs because of the convenient weather and to think of it, it has also the same impact of prostitution. It lowers the morality and drives the younger residents of Baguio to this unlikely nature. And it also brings criminal rate of the city to a higher scale. Pollution and waste ââ¬â there are ton of people visiting and living in Baguio and that gives a ton of waste to land and air. Hotels and other establishments assessing the needs of the tourists is the primary contributor of these waste but it can be solve with the participation of the residents and tourists in Baguio.Traffic ââ¬â it doesnââ¬â¢t really concern i n the cultural aspects that Baguio have but it does concern in the society. The primary mode of transportation going to Baguio is by car and since there are hundreds of people with cars are going to Baguio, it causes traffic and congestion that also results to the inconvenience ofà everyone. Undergoing transportation infrastructure ââ¬â In relation to the traffic, we have observe as we travel going to Baguio, there are a lot of roads that are either wrecked or under construction making the travel time a lot longer. Baguio is a famous destination and it is much better if the roads are fixed and there are lights on the side of the roads that can give safety to the visitors travelling to Baguio.Cultural Diversity ââ¬â Cultural diversity has a different case, it has both the positive and negative impacts in the socio-cultural aspects. Baguio always faces different kinds of culture for a long period of time already and as everything is improving, Baguio also improves with it. L ocal residents learned how to make their lifestyles much better and try to be in with the current trends today but because of that, some of the cultures in Benguet are already fading and almost forgotten which is the bad side of the improving society. Some of the local residents are already socialized and the number of pure natives is decreasing fast due to the time and the influence of tourists that has different cultures. Increasing Crime Rate ââ¬â with a lot of tourist, we canââ¬â¢t really be sure that all of them have good intentions and some of them became snatcher and holdapers. With these incidents, it became a threat to some tourist and this gives them the reason not to go to Baguio. It lessens their security and safetyCONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONWe concluded on the end of our observation that Baguio still has rich cultural arts that should be seen by more future generations and the local residents of Baguio are very good at preserving their cultural heritage. Even t he society is being more into the current trend, it is nice that they still treasure their culture and they are also proud of it. It terms of finding solution and suggestions to the problems and to improve their strengths, the only possible answers we can get are these: More support from the Government in implementing further rules and regulations Participation and Discipline of both Local Residents and Tourists Cooperation of the Hotels, restaurants and other service facilities in Baguio Awareness of everyone to the environmental issues
